Is monosodium
glutamate a cause of high blood
pressure?
Many of us know that MSG has been linked to many health conditions. For
example, it can aggravate asthma, may be linked to obesity and is said
to aggravate tinnitus - to name just a few.

Many people speak of reducing their sodium intake to help with their

anything additional. Also, salt is a bit like sugar - try going without
it for a short while and you might be amazed that you don't really feel
the urge to add it as much as you used to.
Dietary salt is one of the biggest sources of sodium. Monosodium
glutamate can also contribute to high levels of sodium in the blood.
But also don't forget about baking soda, saccharin, softened water and
other potential sources.

It would be great if you could just reduce your intake of salt and
monosodium glutamate and your high blood pressure would be gone. You've
got to do a little more than that but by playing it smart, it is not
difficult to quickly drop your blood pressure back to safe levels.
In fact, the most important mineral interaction is between sodium and potassium. As well as
reducing your sodium, you also should increase your potassium to have
an even greater effect.
If you do this, your arteries will dilate wide and reduce your blood
pressure very quickly.
A couple of good sources of potassium are bananas and avocados.
Hidden Sources Of MSG
Many people say that MSG is common in Asian food. This is true, but it
is also present in many western processed foods. Sauces, stock cubes,
prepared ready meals, chips and canned foods often contain monosodium
glutamate. They also often contain low levels of nutrition and high
levels of saturated fats.
This is why lowering your blood pressure is so beneficial. If you lower
your blood pressure then you will radically reduce your chances of not just heart attack and stroke
but also cancer and other lifestyle diseases.
